I took this photo at Historic St. Mary’s City in southern Maryland. St. Mary’s City was founded in 1634 as the capital of George Calvert’s fledgling colony in the New World. Once again, Smithsonian magazine is sponsoring Museum Day, offering free admission for two people to one of the participating museums.
